Laboratories - MOMRP provides R&D investments in support of intramural and extramural organizations. DoD intramural medical research labs are listed below:


US Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory (USAARL)
USAARL's research programs solve medical and health-related problems that compromise the safety or deter the mission performance of the aviator and Soldier. The laboratory conducts research on neurosensory injury, return-to-duty standards for wounded warriors, and equipment for the medical evacuation environment.

Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU-D)
NAMRU-D is Navy Medicine’s global research leader solving tomorrow’s warfighter challenges with today’s innovative aeromedical and environmental health research solutions. NAMRU-D’s mission is to maximize warfighter performance and survivability through world-class aeromedical and environmental health research by delivering solutions to the field, the Fleet and for the future. Co-location with the Air Force’s 711th Human Performance Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base facilitates direct collaboration and allows leveraging of the 711 HPW’s extensive research capabilities. As a result, NAMRU-D is the one-stop research lab for answering aeromedical and environmental health scientific questions.

711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW)
The 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW) is a unique combination of three units: the Airman Systems Directorate (RH), the US Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM) and the Human Systems Integration Directorate (HP). Naval Medical Research Unit (NAMRU-SA)

Naval Submarine Medical Research Laboratory (NSMRL)
NSMRL is a major contributor to integrating these technologies into submarine crew operations. NSMRL is DoD’s Center for Undersea Biomedical Research. The laboratory’s mission is to protect the health and enhance the performance of warfighters through submarine, diving and surface biomedical research solutions. Established in World War II to conduct mission critical studies in night vision, sonar sound discrimination, and personnel selection, NSMRL continues to serve the fleet by taking the lead in undersea human factors, sensory sciences and operational medicine.

Telemedicine & Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC)
TATRC is an office of the Headquarters of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command (USAMRDC), located at Fort Detrick, Maryland. TATRC conducts and supports research through its six key laboratories and programs which include: Computational Biology, Health I.T., Mobile Health, Medical Modeling & Simulation, Medical Intelligent Systems Laboratory and the AMTI Program. With an extensive network of partners, TATRC expertise is focused on the entire research spectrum, from early stage innovative research to technology demonstrations and implementation to benefit the Warfighter. TATRC Labs actively collaborate with commercial entities and academic institutions to address the requirements of our medical research programs through special funding and partnership opportunities.
